About the Band

Hailing from all around Kentucky, the 23 String Band plays fun, fuel-injected, original Americana that dangerously weaves across the lanes of modern acoustic music — windows down, accelerator to the floor, on a joyride into the unknown with one eye on the vintage sounds in the rearview mirror. It’s a bluegrass attack fueled by high-octane rock-n-roll energy and triple-distilled organic roots. Your feet hurt from dancing; your face hurts from grinning. Get your groove on. You’re riding shotgun.
Notable performances include the 2012 RockyGrass Festival, 2010 Forecastle Festival, 2010 Master Musicians Festival, 2010 2011 & 2012 ROMP Festival, 2010 & 2011 Kentucky Bluegrass Music Festival, 2010 & 2011 Terrapin Hill Harvest Festival, 2011 Licking River Music Festival, 2009 Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, the 2010 World Equestrian Games, 2011 Bluegrass on the Bay in Great Falls, Montana, 2011 Beartrap Summer Fest in Casper, Wyoming, 2011 Folk in the Fall in Haleyville, Alabama, 2009 Mountain Heritage Literary Festival in Harrogate, Tennessee, 2010 Festival of Faiths in Louisville, and more.
